Social dancing is a great way to spend your free time actively. Do you want to improve your physical condition, strengthen your muscles, or maybe meet new people and gain self-confidence? Or just relax and have a good time? You’ve come to the best place!

Ballroom dancing has been practiced since the 20th century, once at balls and salons, now professionally at competitions and tournaments, and amateur at parties and dance events. These are the well-known and willingly danced varieties of dance that are most useful in life. However, they are not too similar to each other – ballroom dances include the elegant Viennese waltz, the sensual tango, and the coquettish cha cha.

In addition to the above-mentioned dances, in Arthur Murray you will also master samba, rumba, salsa, foxtrot, swing, bachata or mambo – the choice is really large and is not limited to this list, and each of these dances has its own, completely unique rhythm, tempo and character.

What are the common features? The steps and patterns of these dance styles will work wonderfully with any music and in a variety of situations – weddings, club parties, business meetings or dates.

What is important in social dancing?

  • Steps and dances. Experienced Arthur Murray instructors will make sure that you can easily and pleasantly master the selected choreography.
  • Cooperation with a partner. As the name suggests, social dancing is not done alone, so you will learn to feel your partner intuitively, communicate non-verbally, and lead or follow the pair.
  • Multitasking. Long ago, at secular gatherings during dances, conversations ranged from those about the weather to the proposal. Not much has changed, dancing is just as great a natural opportunity to talk about anything in the world.
