1. “I don’t have a sense of rhythm, I can’t move nicely, I’ll just look ridiculous”
The ability to dance is indeed not something we are born with, so everyone who starts learning has a little wooden legs at the beginning, but this quickly changes as you learn. Dancing, on the other hand, improves our coordination, physical fitness, develops a sense of rhythm and helps to gain self-confidence. So it is a wonderful remedy to feel good in your own body!
2. “I’m too old to learn to dance”
If you are looking for a fun and healthy hobby that you can have a lot of fun with, there simply is no better option than ballroom dancing! The adventure with dance can be started at any age, regardless of fitness, and the lessons will be a great form of physical activity. You don’t have to know anything at all, that’s what you go to class for, to learn new skills.

At Arthur Murray no one needs to come with a partner to dance – we also offer a pro-am class format which is one-on-one lessons where you dance with instructors. This is a very effective method that you have surely seen on shows such as Dancing with the Stars.
